I am a new Ugly Betty fan, and I'm so in love with the show. I just completely relate to her. Like tonight, when she was feeling like she is totally overshadowed by her big sister. That's exactly how I feel when I'm with two of my best friends. They are gorgeous and confident and attract boys like crazy, and I just feel ugly and socially awkward. Not that I have completely low self-esteem- I know I'm not really. It just feels that way when your friends are goddesses.
Speaking of friends, I have a new group of friends at work. I feel like I am in with the popular girls, even though I really haven't cared about popularity since I was like, 15. One of the ladies invited me to go to Houston for a 4 day weekend we have coming up, which also happens to be my 25th birthday! Her family owns a condo down there, and her cousin owns a car dealership there. Apparently last year during this trip, he lent the ladies a Bentley to drive for the weekend. So it should be tons of fun. There is only one rule- you sleep when you get home. Honestly, I'm a little worried I won't be able to keep up. :)
There is, however, a problem with the trip. There are 10 of us going. The ladies who planned it were very selective about who they invited. (This is why I'm so honored- they barely know me, and I try to stay private and professional at work. I don't know why they think I will be so much fun.) They aren't telling anyone else about the trip so no one's feelings will be hurt. But I have a best friend at work. It is our first year with the district, and we're both about the same age. We tell each other everything. We'd be lost without each other. And she wasn't invited. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because they haven't gotten to know her outside work, so they don't know how cool she is. Either way, I'm not sure how to tell her. I definitely don't want to lie. I will have to think carefully about it.
