MIM

Rachel's baby was due Wednesday. When she was still showing no signs of labor yesterday, she decided she wanted to go to a museum and do some walking. I was so glad she and Mico invited me to come with! Honestly, the Musical Instrument Museum sounded kind of lame, even though I'm a music person. I just couldn't see myself looking at and reading about instruments for hours. But it was so much cooler than I thought it would be! Our 3 hours there were not nearly enough; we will definitely be back. There were several things that made it so great. First of all, they had just about every country represented. I learned about music in countries I'd never even heard of. Here's one of the displays from China. It was so interesting to see the similarities and differences between instruments in different parts of the world. The best part was the headphones. Every display had a tv that showed the instruments being played. It was fascinating to hear the different singing styles,

The Scene in First Period Math

Mr. A, the math teacher on my team, wasn't at work today. In the middle of first period, one of his students burst into the classroom next door and yelled, "Mr. L, we need help!" Mr. L assumed there was a fight. He almost sent a kid to go get the other male teacher across the hall. He rushed into the classroom, trying to figure out where the fight was so he could break it up. But there was no fight. Just the substitute teacher trying to teach a math lesson. Incorrectly. The kids were so upset, they were practically rioting- out of their seats, yelling, etc. It was chaos. We all thought this was hilarious. But more than being a funny story, we also see it as a testament to Mr. A's teaching skills. He must be an amazing math teacher and have a great rapport with the kids for them to have been so worked up over a math lesson. They'll be so glad to see him tomorrow.

I want to go back to the hospital.

I started getting sick on Monday. I knew I was sick because when I got in my car at the end of the day, I thought, this feels soooo good and didn't turn on the AC the whole drive home. I still had goosebumps, too. I live in Phoenix. Tuesday morning I went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with strep. My temp was 102, and that was after I'd taken medicine to get it down. I pretty much slept all day. I was too sick to even watch tv. Then, in the middle of the night, I started throwing up. When I got up this morning, I realized I was worse instead of better. My fever had let up a little, but everything else was worse, especially the nausea and stomach cramps. When I called Urgent Care, they told me to go to the hospital. I could barely get myself there. It made me homesick because I knew if I was in Chicago, there would be a bunch of people I could've called. Rachel keeps trying to help me here, but I don't want her preggo self anywhere near my sickness. Anyway,

Ladies Is Pimps, Too

Can't get this Jay-Z song out of my head this weekend. Thursday night I had a lovely date with this guy Daniel. He's working on his phd in clinical psych at ASU, specializing in forensic psych. He currently works with juvenile sex offenders wants to change the way the prison system works. He is going to change the world. Seriously. I love talking to him. And apparently he felt the same way about me, because at the end of the date he walked me to my car, hugged me, and made plans with me for the next night. Friday night we met up for margaritas, had more great conversation, and went back to his place, where we made out and talked for like, 3 hours. I'm excited to see him again this Wednesday. I'm not sure if he's the right guy for me, but he's definitely someone I want to know. Sunday afternoon I went bowling with my Meetup group. There's this guy there who wants me. I can totally tell. I mean, who wouldn't? Don't Jenny and I look adorable in our skir
