I'm noticing a theme in my life lately- things have not been going according to plan. Perhaps this is God's way of telling me to calm the eff down. I just have this picture in my head of how I want things to be, and I don't handle disappointment well.
For example, I should have been in the best mood last weekend because I got to spend it in Utah with one of my favorite people. Instead, I was cranky and disappointed after a day of fails. Egypt 1 didn't work out. Then we hiked to some pictographs and couldn't find them. Then it was too cold to camp. Then we couldn't find a hotel nearby. Then Egypt 3 didn't work out.
But a bad day in Utah is a good day anywhere else. And I woke up at Bryce on Sunday morning! I need to work on feeling more gratitude.
After all those fails, we really needed a win, and Round Valley Draw provided that. This canyon has been on my list for quite a while now, and I'm so glad we got to do it. I definitely had an attitude adjustment by the end of the day. The narrows were gorgeous, and there were just enough challenges to keep things interesting. I love this area!
Fun downclimb... Allison needed a spot on one of the downclimbs, and I almost messed it up because I'm usually the one being spotted!
