I have a secret. It's a big one. And it's such happy news, I'm dying to tell everyone, but I can't because it's my friend's secret, not mine!!!!
I don't have anything else interesting going on. I don't even really have anything to say, but I've been getting complaints for not updating my blog. Nancy's still not talking to me, which is starting to make me mad. It's a shame she wants to throw away a friendship just because I don't like her boyfriend. Ryan and I are stilling hanging out, and things are drama-free and lovely. He's one of the few people I actually see since my schedule is so busy. It's nice to have a friend in the neighborhood. And he is just that- a friend. I've been hanging out with Whitney a lot lately, too, which is fun. We went to Madison to see Rent this weekend and had a great time (despite a scary trip to Culver's in which we were frightened by a person in a giant ice cream cone suit). We also had a hilarious conversation reminiscing about the show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Both of our families used to watch every week, and my mom always thought Sully was hot. I told Whitney that my mom also has a crush on Captain Picard from Star Trek, so we texted to ask her about these crushes. Her reply was, "Picard is cuter than Sully." What a great quote. My mom is ridiculous. And Rent was amazing, as usual. It was the second time I saw Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp in it, which was really cool. Rent is actually going to be in Chicago soon, and I'm thinking about going for my birthday. Not sure yet.
At work, I found out my principal was talking to another teacher about how I'm a hell of a teacher and she was so blessed to get me at her school. It's nice to know someone thinks I'm doing a good job. But I'm still looking for a new job. I like my school and my job, but I really want to pursue my original goal of teaching remedial reading in a middle school or high school. Of course, if I can't find exactly that, I'm not going anywhere.
So everyone on Facebook has been going on Urban Dictionary and looking up their names. Here's the definition of an Erin:
"Erin is a female who has the body of a goddess and the brain of a genius. Men are drawn to her good looks and her awsome sense of humour. Out of all the females in the world its the Erins who rule."
Love it.
