On Monday, I met up with Jenna, who blogs over at Plaid Sheep. https://winenaptime.wordpress.com
And finally, the day ended with dinner at Elephants Delicatessen (kind of like LGO in Phoenix), dessert at Salt and Straw (I am obsessed with their Sea Salt Caramel Swirl ice cream and the waffle cones they make right in front of you), and some donuts to-go at Blue Star.
I miss this girl so much, and I wish I'd spent more time with her when she lived in Phoenix! But I think Portland is where she's meant to be. We had lunch at Koi Fusion and dessert at Salt and Straw.
And then we watched the Hawks win the Cup at Hopworks! And Jenna was all, "Yay, sports!" because she doesn't watch hockey. And I got really drunk and texted embarrassing things. I am kind of the queen of drunk texting.
A few days later, it was Paula's turn to show me around Portland. I seriously can't believe how many things we did. And most of it was not planned.
We started out at the Rose Garden. This place was unbelievable! It just went on and on, and it smelled so good and was so beautiful. Paula and I kept trying to get good pictures together, but the difference in height is an issue.
We were very hungry after smelling all these roses, so it was time for lunch at the Grilled Cheese Bus. I tried the Jalapeno Popper sandwich this time. I think what sets this sandwich apart is that they put tortilla chips on it for extra texture. I can't even describe how delicious it was.
Dessert was coconut cream pie at the pie bar with some boutique shopping in between.
And then we went to Ikea, because I had some ideas for my apartment and wanted Paula's input. IKEA is the perfect place to stroll around and chat with a friend and mindlessly add things to your basket, and then take them all out at the last minute because you don't really need them.
We consulted a map and realized we weren't far from another stamp for my passport book.
Best. Day. Ever.
