On day two, I was (predictably) sore and tired. Very thankful for a day off. We found a spot in the desert to set up targets and practice shooting. I was allowed to choose the soundtrack for this activity and chose music by the Pistol Annies and Miranda Lambert. I felt it was appropriate to listen to “Hell on Heels” as Kristin and I shooting up cans like bad-asses. Well, Kristin was, at least. I was having trouble aiming. Finally, Jason came over to help. “I can’t see through the scope!” I complained. He saw the problem right away- I was closing my right eye. So embarrassing. After that, shooting was much easier.
Next, we headed to Burr Point, an overlook of Glen Canyon. We spent a little while just soaking in the beauty of the spot.
Finally, it was time to head to Blue John, tomorrow’s canyon. Kristin and I followed Jason. And about 10 miles down the dirt road to Blue John, his truck broke down.
(Our campsite on the road that night... Notice the truck of the bed has been removed.)
